RAINFOREST FLOW GLOBAL TRAINING AND RESEARCH CENTER

A meeting place for Indigenous leaders, scientists, and policymakers and a hub of multicultural knowledge exchange, the Rainforest Flow Global Training and Research Center will benefit Indigenous rainforest communities around the world.

In response to rising demand from communities, Rainforest Flow is shifting from direct service to a train-the-trainer model. Launching in Peru, this approach will scale our impact across the Amazon and beyond by equipping rainforest communities with training, water treatment kits, and consultancy services to achieve water security.

The center of this is Global Training and Research Center based in Southeastern Peru. Rainforest Flow has developed a network of experts and local and international partners who collaborate to teach hands-on workshops for Indigenous leaders, government representatives, scientists, and students. The Global Training and Research Center is a clearinghouse for collaboration, technical solutions, capacity building, and research, allowing us to share and scale up our successful, field-tested programs globally.

In these training workshops, participants can learn from the Rainforest Flow team, Indigenous community members, and water committee members about how clean water and sanitation systems function in rainforest environments.

Offerings at the Global Training and Research Center

We offer workshops for Indigenous Peoples and federations that teach them how clean water and eco-friendly sanitation can work in their communities and how to work with government agencies and officials to implement successful water projects in their communities.

We also offer trainings for government agencies, contractors, technicians, and nonprofits on how to install and maintain the water treatment and sanitation/waste management system, as well as the health and social integration components necessary to achieve success.

Immersive study programs for national and international students and researchers to help them learn about the importance of adapting WASH systems within the unique cultural and environmental context of each Indigenous community.
